2024 Impact Report

2024 was a year filled with change at Samaritan Health Center. We hope you are encouraged by the impact of your gifts and the quality of care you make possible!

Medicaid expansion brought a dramatic shift in our state: for the first time, many community members with limited income qualified for additional benefits toward their health care. Missionally we remain committed to serving our neighbors who do not qualify for Medicaid. Thus, over the past year we both welcomed many new patients and assisted patients newly eligible for Medicaid in finding a clinic for their further flourishing. We also hired our first two native Spanish speakers to further enhance our patients’ experience.

As 2025 begins, we have increased outreach to new communities and partners, as well as launched a Walk-In Program for qualifying first-time patients: resulting in 82 new patients registered in the first quarter. We have expanded the vaccines available onsite through a Tdap pilot with Vaccine Ambassadors, and we hope to add a new specialty and a food pantry partnership later this year. Our Community Health Team recently partnered with Bull City Futsal to provide sports physicals at a local high school, with more outreach to come!

Our Board and team remain unified and committed to this work. We appreciate the 87 volunteers who served more than 2,400 hours last year, and we are proud to have saved local emergency rooms an estimated $4.2 million! We have received very positive feedback from recent patient interviews, and we believe our services are the strongest they have ever been—all offered for a suggested donation, but regardless of a patient’s ability to contribute.

These numbers are a snapshot of the journeys we strive to share with our patients—in a wide variety of circumstances, joys, and trials. Your gifts make it possible!

Gratefully,

Elizabeth Brill, MPS
Executive Director
